A pedestrian was injured after he was struck by a wooden pole on Ireland Street in the Verulam CBD – KZN this afternoon (Thursday).
The driver of the red Ford Bantam bakkie contacted Reaction Unit South Africa (RUSA) for assistance at approximately 13:27. On arrival, he informed Reaction Officers that he was transporting wooden poles at the back of his bakkie when the restraints became undone. One of the poles measuring several meters struck a pedestrian on his head. The driver stopped to assist the injured man.
The pedestrian was transported privately to a medical facility.
