Reaction Unit South Africa (RUSA) was called out to Canelands in Kwazulu Natal by residents who believed they had found a human body dumped after a mob-style killing.
The residents informed the Operations Center that a body was located in a bush near a dumpsite by a passerby. Reaction Officers arrived on scene near a residential area known as Thundertown and interviewed residents. Officers were informed that a body was wrapped in a blanket then tied with rope. The structure appeared to be human and the stench became unbearable as they got closer.
Reaction Officers approached the area and located the scene. The ropes were cut and two layers of woollen blackets were removed.
The carcass of a dog was found in an advanced stage of decomposition.
