The Still Bay police made a breakthrough in theft of bicycle cases reported during the festive period with the arrest of a juvenile and the recovery of six bicycles worth over R87 000.
Reports indicates that two cases were reported at the Still Bay police station after a number of bicycles were stolen at a camping site in Still Bay between 31 December 2023 and 09 January 2024.
The investigation took the team to a house at Albertinia where the juvenile was found with two bicycles in his possession. Police seized the bicycles and arrested the suspect on charges of theft and possession of suspected stolen property.
Further investigation led to the confiscation of four more bicycles found at another address also in the Albertinia policing precinct. Investigation into this discovery is underway and more arrests are imminent.
