A vehicle sought in connection with a robbery and assault case reported in Brooklyn was identified through the Vumacam SafeCity LPR network, enabling Gauteng Department of e-Government operators to provide real-time intelligence to law enforcement teams.
Working alongside Hatfield CID, South African Police Service (SAPS) Highway Patrol, and Sunnyside SAPS, the vehicle was intercepted and taken in for investigation. The victim positively identified one of the occupants as the perpetrator, while CCTV footage further linked both suspects to the crime.
2 suspects were detained and the vehicle was impounded and escorted to the Pretoria West Pound for further investigation.
