Netcare 911 paramedics and other services responded to an accident on the M25 in Kwa-Mashu this morning. Upon their arrival on scene they found that a bus had left the roadway, overturned and came to a standstill down an embankment.
After assessment of all patients, it was found that four people tragically lost their lives, two people sustained critical injuries and twenty five people sustained injuries ranging from moderate to serious.
A medical helicopter was activated to airlift one of the critically injured patients to hospital for urgent medical care.
All the injured patients were treated on scene and transported to hospital for further medical care.
Exact detail to the cause of the accident and preceding events will remain the subject of a police investigation.
