WESTERN CAPE – In the early hours of Wednesday, 26 August 2020, members attached to Vredenburg Detective Service and West Coast K9 Unit acted on information about vehicles, loaded with abalone, that was on their way from Paternoster to Vredenburg.
Members searched the vehicle and discovered 1 606 units of abalone. The exact value of the abalone confiscated during this operation is yet to be determined.
Two male suspects were arrested for possession of abalone and are expected to appear in the Vredenburg Magistrates’ Court soon.
