The public in Gauteng & Kwazulu Natal are requested to be on the lookout for 42-year-old Ishara Gungapersad also known as Popsy.
Gungapersad’s family residing in Kwadukuza – KZN contacted Reaction Unit South Africa (RUSA) requesting assistance after unsuccessful attempts to locate her since Sunday 5/03/2023. The following information was provided by her family.
Ishara Gungapersad boarded an Inter-Cape bus on Sunday 5 March 2023 from a pickup point at a Caltex Service Station in Midrand in Gauteng at approx. 21:00. The bus was bound for Durban in Kwazulu Natal and expected to arrive at 06:00 on Monday, 6 March 2023. Information later received that the bus was delayed at arrived at approx 07:00 on the same day. It could not be confirmed if Gungapersad disembarked at the Durban Bus Terminal but no extra luggage was left behind or found after all passengers had left.
Reaction Officers learned that the missing female had intended on using an Uber/Bolt service to get to Pinetown – KZN to see her children. She did not arrive. Her mobile phone has been switched off since. The family that spoke to her prior to their departure believed that she sounded depressed.
Gungapersad is an ICU nurse at Waterfall Netcare Hospital in Gauteng. She is 1,5m in height, weighs approx 50kg with black eyes & brown hair. She is believed to be wearing a sweater and blue jeans with a size 3 pair of boots. This could not be confirmed.
