South African Police Service in Mahwelereng have arrested two male suspects aged between 26 and 35 during an intelligence driven operation in Mahwelereng policing precinct today, Friday, 04 July 2025.
The operation was focusing on suspected drug dealers in Waterberg district. While in Ga-Chaba in Mapela village, a male suspect was spotted at his residential place. He was approached and his room was searched. The following drugs were discovered in his room:
-sachets of crystal meth
-sachets of rocks
-sachets of nyaope
-numerous number of ammunitions and used empty cartridges and an undisclosed amount of cash.
The total value of the recovered items is estimated to the amount of R10, 000-00
In another incident, a 26-year-old suspect was also arrested for possession of drugs (sachets of crystal meth) at his home village in Danisani. Both arrested suspects were charged with possession of drugs, Act 140 of 1992.
They will appear before Mokereng Magistrate’s Court soon.
