The Johannesburg Metropolitan Police Department (JMPD) urges residents and commuters to be aware of significant traffic disruptions in Dobsonville, Soweto due to the CAF Confederation Cup soccer match between Kaizer Chiefs FC and AS Simba FC at Dobsonville Stadium on Sunday, 26 October 2025
We urge all attendees and the surrounding community to take note of the planned traffic management operations, road closures, and parking arrangements. Heavy traffic volume is anticipated in the vicinity of the stadium.
The match is expected to start at 15:00 and the gates will be opened at 12:00.
JMPD will deploy officers from 11:00 to ensure the safe, free, and fast flow of traffic around Dobsonville Stadium. Motorists should anticipate and plan for road closures and regulated traffic at the following key intersections:
Road Closures will be implemented at 11:00:
* Marambu Street & Mondi Street
* Marambu Street & Mngadi/Tati Street
* Marambu Street & Sifuba Street
Traffic will be actively controlled at intersections including, but not limited to:
* Main Street & Marambu Street
* Main Street & Luthuli Street
* Main Street & Ellias Motsoaledi Street
* Luthuli Street intersections (Dzana, Msikana, Gwele, Majova Streets)
Spectators are strictly prohibited from parking on the pavement, the shoulder of the roadway, or on the street. All vehicles that contravene the Road Traffic Management Act will be impounded.
Designated spectator parking areas are:
* Dobsonville Rugby Field (Access via Main and Luthuli Street, Majova Street, and Sifuba Street)
* Dobsonville Swimming Pool (Access via Marambu/Mondi Street and Main Street)
* Kopanong Community Hall (Also for ticket sales, if not sold out)
Important Access Information:
* Emergency vehicles, team buses, and staff vehicles will use Marambu/Mondi Street.
* VIPs, Media, and VOC members will access parking at the main gate of the stadium.
* Dobsonville residents opposite the stadium must display valid access cards with their house number and name clearly visible.
The JMPD, alongside SAPS and other stakeholders, will be highly visible to maintain law and order.
We appeal to all motorists to exercise patience, follow the instructions of all deployed law enforcement and traffic officials, and adhere to the designated parking and traffic plans.
