CAPE TOWN – Members of the Anti-Gang Unit, deployed in Grassy Park policing precinct to combat gang violence, searched a premises in Hector Road, Ottery on Saturday, 08 November 2025, and arrested a suspect when they found an unlicensed firearm on the premises.
The members received information about a firearm at a premises in the informal settlement and followed up the information. Upon searching the informal dwelling the members found a 9mm pistol without a serial number and twelve rounds of ammunition. They a arrested a 37-year-old male was the possession of a unlicensed firearm and ammunition.
The same members arrested a 38-year-old male in Peter Court, Ottery, when they searched the male and found six packets crystal meth, three units cocaine and 29 mandrax tablets in his possession. He was arrested for the possession of drugs.
The suspects will appear in the Wynberg Magistrates’ court on Monday, 10 November 2025.
