A robbery suspect was detained by Mi7 Reaction Officers in Northdale shortly after a woman was allegedly robbed while walking to work yesterday morning.
Mi7 Control Room operators received information from a resident in Gandhi Road reporting that a female pedestrian had been robbed by a man who fled the scene on foot. Mi7 Reaction Officers already patrolling the area were immediately dispatched and, after a short while, located a man matching the description provided by witnesses.
The suspect was quickly detained. Upon searching the surrounding area, Reaction Officers recovered a handbag that had been discarded in nearby bushes. The only item still inside was the victim’s lunch box, with the remaining contents believed to have been removed.
Despite efforts to locate the victim, she could not be traced and no identification or contact details were found in the recovered handbag.
