Reaction Unit South Africa is requesting assistance from the public in an attempt to locate a 100 year old gold chain & pendant taken in a housebreaking from a home in Oakbridge Drive – Oaklands in KwaZulu-Natal. The jewel that was passed down four generations and holds sentimental value was taken on Monday between 10am – 2pm while the family was out attending a prayer at a temple.
Other jewelry and valuables to the value of R250 000 & R5500 in cash was also taken. The homeowners medication for diabetes and thyroid treatment was also stolen by the suspects. Entry to the property was gained via the main gate that was forced apart and the suspect used a 20 liter paint bucket to reach the kitchen window which was broken with unknown object. Only one bedroom was ransacked.
