Have you ever noticed your wiper blades leaving streaky marks on your windscreen and they are not nearly due for replacement? Here’s a couple of tips to help clean your wiper blades effectively:
• Step 1
Make sure your vehicle is clean to remove as much dirt as possible
• Step 2
Apply a small amount of washer fluid / hot soapy water on a cloth and wipe several times over the wiper until there’s no more dirt visible
• Step 3
Wipe with a clean cloth to ensure all dirt are removed. Apply a small amount of rubbing alcohol to a cloth and wipe excess soap/residue off the blade
Wiper Blades that have hardened over time
Now what do you do if the rubber on your wiper blades has hardened over time, follow these easy steps:
• Step 1
On clean wiper blades, dip a cloth into petroleum jelly and wipe it along the entire length of the rubber.
• Step 2
Do not wipe off the petroleum jelly and let it air dry for at least 10 minutes
• Step 3
Make sure there’s no more petroleum jelly visible, then lower the wiper arm back to the windscreen
