It is recommended not to drive in heavy fog conditions where you are unable to see the bonnet of your vehicle. Rather wait for the fog to clear up before driving.
- Always drive with your headlights on, Low beams are better when driving in fog. Since high beams create a reflection which reduces your visibility on the road.
- Always drive slowly and keep a safe distance from the vehicle in front of you. It might take you longer to get to your destination, but safety comes first.
- You want to skip on the cruise control for you to have full control over your vehicle when driving.
- Make use of your air conditioner and windshield wipers to reduce the frost on your windshield, this will increase your visibility.
- If you are unable to see clearly, it’s best to pull over to the side of the road in a safe location as far away as possible from traffic. Switch on your hazards so that others can see you.
