The National Traffic Police (NTP) arrested a motorist in Musina after he was found driving under the influence of alcohol and subsequently attempted to bribe officers to avoid arrest.
The officers rejected the bribe and immediately placed the suspect under arrest. He was detained at Musina SAPS and is facing charges of driving under the influence of alcohol and bribery.
This incident demonstrates that not all law enforcement officers are corrupt. The National Traffic Police remains committed to upholding the law with integrity, professionalism, and accountability.
Acting Director Aphane applauded the officers for honouring their badge, refusing corruption, and helping to restore public trust and confidence in law enforcement.
