On Thursday afternoon (25/06/2026), an armed gang hijacked a motorcycle and stole a cellphone during a robbery at a residence in Emakhalathini, Mhlasini – KZN.
Members of Reaction Unit South Africa (RUSA) were called out to the scene at approximately 21:53 after receiving reports of an armed robbery in progress.
The complainant alleged that two (2) armed suspects with their faces concealed by masks approached the residence. One of the suspects discharged a firearm, shattering a window before demanding the keys to a motorcycle. Fearing for his safety, the complainant handed the keys through the broken window.
The suspects then demanded a Samsung cellphone, which was surrendered. When they demanded cash, the complainant informed them that he had none. Before fleeing, the suspects fired a further three (3) shots outside the residence.
The stolen motorcycle is described as a white Big Boy 150. The registration number is unknown. No injuries were sustained during the incident.
Reaction Officers searched the surrounding area, however the suspects and stolen property could not be located.
