A white Suzuki Carry that was stolen during a robbery at a construction site in Riet River, KZN was recovered by Reaction Officers after the suspects crashed in Zwelisha, KZN.
Reaction Unit South Africa (RUSA) received a call from a member of the public reporting a robbery where six armed suspects entered the construction site and held up staff. The robbers stole a cellphone and the bakkie before they sped off. A description of the vehicle was circulated to other Reaction Officers.
The bakkie was recovered in Zwelisha, KZN lying on its side by a RUSA Member who was searching for the gang. According to witnesses, three men exited the vehicle after it overturned and got into a VW Golf and a Peugeot. The vehicles drove off towards Amouti. The model and registration of the getaway vehicles are unknown.
The victims were not injured during the robbery.
