The Tshwane Metro Police (TMPD) Drug unit members together with crime intelligence conducted an operation on Tuesday 13 December 2022 in Soshanguve regarding drug dealing in the area.
During the operation, the members responded to a complaint about a suspect who terrorizes the community and was in possession of a firearm.
The officers swiftly responded by locating the suspect at his residence, he was found in possession of an unlicensed firearm and ammunition. He was arrested on the spot. On the same night, the officers arrested a couple aged between 40 and 43 in Soshanguve for drug dealing. They were found in possession of 130 packets of crystal meth with an estimated value of R7000.
One more suspect was arrested by the TMPD Tactical unit while they were doing patrols in Hercules. The suspected was caught selling dagga and was also arrested on the spot. A charge of bribery was also included as he tried to bribe the officers with R300.
