The Ekurhuleni metropolitan police department (EMPD) Overloads Control Unit Officers, impounded a defective 5 door vehicle, in the Thembisa area.
During the crime prevention operation, on the R562 road by Olifantsfontein off-ramp, EMPD Officers stopped and searched a blue Toyota Conquest 2008 model hatch-back and the displayed license disc, didn’t correspond with the registration/number plates.
An interview was conducted on site and the cooperative 33-year old male driver, who alleged that he bought the vehicle from Mpumalanga Province, by Kwa-Mhlanga section and he is still waiting for the register documents, from the previous owner, so that he could change ownership and update the 5 doors. As Officers continued to scrutinize, updated license discs, were found on the cabin and the installed engine numbers, didn’t correspond with the one, on the (valid) license disc.
No arrests were effected and the driver, was allowed a chance, to sort out the relevant papers, while the Toyota Conquest, was impounded for safe keeping, at the Thembisa precinct.
