SAPS in collaboration with KZNVIP and other Security companies conducted a targeted operation in the Verulam CBD and surrounding townships, aimed at detaining foreign nationals who were not in possession of the required documentation, today, 30 August 2025.
During the operation, approximately five individuals were detained by SAPS for failing to provide valid documentation.
KZNVIP Response Officers, who were assisting SAPS, apprehended two suspects who attempted to flee upon noticing a patrol vehicle. While the suspects were unarmed, they were unable to produce documentation and were handed over to SAPS for processing.
In addition, members carried out stop and search operations, during which multiple knives and house break-in tools were recovered.
This joint operation forms part of ongoing efforts by SAPS, KZNVIP together with other Security Agents and community structures to combat crime and ensure the safety of residents in Verulam and surrounding areas.
