A multi-disciplinary roadblock was manned on the N1, Trompsburg led by Brigadier Mohiti Sereetsi with other security forces such as the Provincial Traffic and Home Affairs.
Other stakeholders such as SANRAL, GCIS, Department of Health, Road Safety and Xhariep District Municipality took part in ensuring that motorists arrive safely at their respective destinations.
Over 1 000 vehicles were searched, 84 traffic fines valued at R 36 850, 00 were issued for various road traffic offences. Two trucks with abnormal loads were impounded.
Pamphlets on #RoadSafety, #StockTheft, gender-based violence as well as drugs and alcohol were distributed during the four hours roadblock.
