“We are here to announce that 160 jobs have been created for local people as we construct the main road P31 in Ward 26 under Alfred Duma Local Municipality.”
“About 60 people are already working,” the MEC for Transport and Human Settlements, Siboniso Duma, stated.
He further revealed that R 35.9 million has been set aside for local emerging contractors-some are already on site.
The breakdown is as follows:
●Companies owned by youth – R12 million
●Companies owned by women – R10 million
●Companies owned by people with disability – R1 million
●Companies owned by military veterans – R4 million
●Other companies: R6 million
