CAPE TOWN – On Saturday, 01 November 2025 at approximately 14:50, Delft Crime Prevention Unit members were busy with their routine patrols in the Delft policing precinct. They noticed a suspicious looking male at an internet café in Symphony Street and immediately went in to search him.
As they were searching the suspect, they found a silver 9mm pistol with one magazine and 10 live rounds of ammunition. The members were informed that the suspect was demanding a protection fee from the internet café owner at the time of their arrival. Police seized the firearm and arrested the suspect for illegal possession of a firearm. He will appear in the Bellville Magistrate’s court.
