A 40-year-old Malawian national, employed as a sales representative at a Cash & Carry, was assaulted and robbed while conducting business in Cornubia – KZN today (Wednesday).
Members of Reaction Unit South Africa (RUSA) were called out to the scene and on arrival met the victim who stated that he had just completed taking an order from a tuck shop when four males approached him.
One suspect placed him in a chokehold while another grabbed his legs, forcing him to the ground. The remaining two suspects began assaulting and robbing him.
During the attack, the suspects stole a ZTE cellphone, R100 in cash, and his motorcycle keys. When the victim requested his keys, one of the suspects started the black SYM 125cc motorcycle and rode off. The motorcycle’s registration number is BH 12 SN ZN.
The victim was not injured.
