CHLOORKOP – Ekurhuleni District Crime Intelligence members, together with other law enforcement agencies, have arrested two suspects following a successful intelligence-led operation conducted on Thursday, 18 December 2025, in the Maokeng section of Tembisa.
The operation was carried out based on credible intelligence indicating illegal possession of firearms and ammunition.
During the operation, members apprehended two individuals and recovered one 9mm revolver pistol, one 9mm Lorcin, and ammunition.
Two suspects, aged 49 and 32, were arrested and charged with possession of unlicensed firearms and ammunition.
Ballistic tests will be conducted to determine whether the firearms can be linked to any other criminal activities.
Ekurhuleni District Commissioner Major General Anna Sithole commended the public’s cooperation and reaffirmed the commitment to ensuring public safety through proactive, intelligence-driven operations. She further encouraged members of the community to continue providing information that may assist law enforcement agencies and the police in preventing and combating crime.
