Wolseley Crime Prevention Unit members recovered two automatic rifles and arrested a Lesotho national in connection with two attempted murder cases registered in October and November 2025.
Two spaza shop owners reported cases of attempted murder after they were shot at in their shops. Wolseley SAPS members worked around the clock, gathering intelligence and piecing together crucial information. On Monday, 08 December 2025, the Crime Prevention Unit went to Pine Valley and searched three shacks. In one of the shacks, they found an R5 rifle without a serial number and 29 rounds of ammunition, an automatic hand machine carbine with 12 rounds of ammunition, and two .38 Special rounds of ammunition.
A 27-year-old male was arrested for possession of a prohibited firearm, possession of an unlicensed firearm, and illegal possession of ammunition.
The male suspect will make his first court appearance in the Wolseley Magistrate’s Court on Wednesday, 10 December 2025, for the mentioned charges. #TrioCrimes #fightingcrime
