The South African Police Service (SAPS) conducted a search and seizure operation in Jeff’sville Informal Settlement, Atteridgeville, this morning, 27 January 2026, recovering firearms and ammunition.
A multidisciplinary team, comprising of the Pretoria Public Order Policing (POP), Crime Intelligence, and Atteridgeville Vispol, acted on intelligence and recovered the following items: two pistols, one shotgun, six magazines and ammunition. The items were seized and will undergo further investigation.
The SAPS commends the collaborative efforts of law enforcement agencies and encourages the public to report any information regarding illegal firearms to Crime Stop line on 08600 10111 or MySAPS App.
