One (1) person was critically injured and two (2) others were killed in a shooting incident at the Rajkumar Informal Settlement in Belvedere, Tongaat – KwaZulu-Natal, today (Saturday).
Members of Reaction Unit South Africa (RUSA) received a call from a resident reporting the shooting.
Upon arrival, Reaction Officers found the Tongaat SAPS already in attendance and managing the scene. It was established that one (1) male, aged 27, sustained a single gunshot wound to the left side of his chest. The critically injured victim was found lying on his side at the bottom of a stairway.
Further information revealed that two (2) additional males had been shot multiple times. Their bodies were located approximately 100 metres away from the first victim. Both males were declared deceased by Paramedics from the Provincial Ambulance Service.
The motive for the shooting has not been established at this stage.
