A 32-year-old man was injured after being stabbed during a domestic dispute at a residence in Phase 6, Waterloo – KZN yesterday (Sunday) afternoon.
At approximately 16:56, Reaction Unit South Africa (RUSA) received a call from a member of the public reporting a stabbing incident in the area. Reaction Officers responded and found the male victim lying on his back with multiple stab wounds to his upper body.
The suspect, a 23-year-old woman identified as the victim’s girlfriend, was located at the scene. Her clothes were blood soaked. She was found in possession of a kitchen knife stained with blood.
She was immediately restrained.
The woman informed Officers that the couple had returned home from a local tavern before an argument broke out, which escalated into a physical confrontation. The suspect confirmed to using a kitchen knife to repeatedly stab the male during the altercation.
Details surround the altercation were not immediately established, but residents informed Reaction Officers that it was common for the couple to argue while intoxicated.
