Members of the Mangaung Community Policing Forum (CPF) who was awarded the CPF of the Year, at the Free State Annual Provincial Excellence Awards 2024/2025, were gifted with prizes today.
Mr Regala, the Deputy Chairperson of Mangaung CPF and the Chairperson of the Provincial CPF Board , Mr Sebeela took to the podium to express pride and joyous sentiments towards the CPF and Mangaung Community at large along with the Provincial and Station Management in guiding initiatives of the CPF; and thanking Coca-Cola for sponsoring the idea with resources in fighting crime within our communities.
Sebeela added that fighting crime remains a mission of the SAPS and emphasised the importance of expanding numbers of Community Patrollers.
Coca-Cola representative, Ms Kedi Moshodi, in her message to the winning team, said that this to the winning team is a gesture in acknowledging a precedent set by Mangaung CPF. “This contributes in efforts towards fighting and reducing crime in the society, Your efforts are not going unnoticed,” said Moshodi.
She, along with the Provincial and Station management, facilitated the handover of 20 bicycles and helmets, 50 reflector jackets, 50 Caps, 15 lanterns and 40 whistles which are all intended for activities carried out by community patrollers.
The jubilous occasion was sealed off by representatives of the district and station to extend gratitude over resources sponsored by Coca-Cola to Mangaung CPF.
“This is the best practice to be extended to other CPFs in the province in enforcing safer communities,” said Brigadier Sharneck.
The program was concluded by Mr Gaosenkwe with an uplifting message to the CPF and management of the SAPS to extend their endeavours in shaping the youth’s career choices by setting a good example to the younger generation.
