he South African Police Service (SAPS) in Mohlakeng has arrested a 58-year-old male suspect for fraud following an intelligence-driven operation conducted on Friday, 13 March 2026.
Police received information in November 2025 about an unknown male who was allegedly producing and selling fraudulent documents, including fake diploma certificates, matric certificates, motor vehicle licence discs and soccer match tickets. Members of the Mohlakeng Detectives initiated an investigation and began monitoring the suspect’s activities.
On 13 March 2026, members of the Mohlakeng Detective Team conducted an operation at Toekomsrus, where the suspect was successfully traced and arrested.
During the operation, several items believed to be linked to the fraudulent activities were seized. These include cash, cellular phones, a USB device, a matric certificate, a hard drive and a desktop computer.
The suspect is expected to appear before the Randfontein Magistrate’s Court on Monday, 16 March 2026.
