As Jetour continues to expand its vehicle line-up and customer base in South Africa, creating meaningful ownership experiences has become an increasingly important part of the brand’s commitment to its customers.
Jetour recently hosted two events, one to showcase the full capabilities of the Jetour T-Series and the other to put the new T-Series i-DM range’s fuel efficiency to the test.
A T-Series 4×4 Adventure Day for T1 and T2 Odyssey owners, together with dealership representatives, took place at Grabouw 4×4 Trail within the Kogelberg Biosphere in the Western Cape. Customers were treated to diverse terrain and breathtaking fynbos landscapes while giving them first-hand experience driving their own vehicles across various road and off-road conditions.
The programme began with classroom-based training which covered everything from fundamental 4×4 driving principles and vehicle systems to technology and the various drive modes available on the T-Series. Making this an even more valuable experience was the fact that all training was presented by respected South African off-road expert AndrĂ© de Villiers.
Owners then headed off on a professionally guided convoy drive, with two-way radio communication between all participants which enabled live coaching and guidance throughout the trail. All participants also received Jetour 4X4 certification after the programme, with challenge winners also receiving various prizes.
The Jetour T-Series, which was launched last October, has exceeded expectations with its strong customer uptake and sales performance. This strong market response made the launch of their new plug-in hybrid SUV range in April this year a logical next step. The T1 i-DM and T2 i-DM combine the adventure capability, performance, efficiency and intelligent electric mobility of plug-in hybrid technology with the bold design, advanced technology and comprehensive safety features that have made the T-Series so popular.
Jetour hosted its first ever T-Series PHEV Fuel Efficiency Challenge a few weeks ago, designed to showcase how drivers can maximise fuel economy by effectively using both the electric and petrol powertrains.
The event challenged participants to determine which driver could achieve the greatest fuel efficiency over a 200 km drive. Instead of focusing on speed or performance, the challenge highlighted efficient driving techniques and the benefits of PHEV technology in everyday conditions.
10 owners were selected to participate, together with their partners and family members, and began the challenge with fully charged batteries and full fuel tanks. Heading off from Jetour’s head office in Midrand, Johannesburg, participants drove the 200 km route across a variety of road and driving conditions, with multiple checkpoints included throughout, while remaining connected via two-way radio communication throughout .
This experience gave these new i-DM owners hands-on experience about the role that driving style plays in maximising the benefits of plug-in hybrid vehicles.
The T1 i-DM and T2 i-DM pair long-distance capability with impressive electrified performance, offering a combined driving range of up to 1 200 km on a full tank and fully charged battery. Both models feature an 18.4 kWh battery, with the T1 i-DM delivering up to 100 km of all-electric driving and 250 kW/530 Nm of system output, while the more powerful T2 i-DM offers up to 90 km of electric-only range and 265 kW/610 Nm of combined power and torque.
By combining practical learning with a real-world driving challenge, Jetour continues to deliver engaging ownership experiences while helping customers get the most from their vehicles. Top of Form
