Two men were shot and killed on Station Road in Canelands.
Members of Reaction Unit South Africa (RUSA) were called out to the scene. On arrival, the Verulam SAPS were in attendance.
The body of the first victim was found lying in the center of the road. He had sustained gunshot wounds to his head, chest, and back. The second victim was found in a pathway approximately 300 meters away from the first victim. He was shot in the face and arm. Both men were declared deceased by Paramedics.
The victims are believed to be from the Canelands area. Residents claimed that they did not see or hear anything. The motive for the murders has not been confirmed at this stage.
The suspects are believed to be linked to several other murders in the area. On the 24/09/2020, RUSA attended to a call where two men were shot and killed outside their homes.
The murders were committed in close proximity to today’s incident.
