Efforts to rid our communities of the illegal drug trade led to the arrest of a 59-year-old suspect in Kraaifontein this morning. Members of the Maitland Flying Squad received information about drugs and conducted a search at the premises which led to the discovery of 550 mandrax tablets. The estimated street value of the drugs is about R30 250-00.
The suspect will appear in the Kuilsrivier Magistrates court on Monday 20 December 2021.
Meanwhile, Grassy Park police arrested a 40-year-old suspect for the possession of an unlicensed firearm in Dove road Parkwood yesterday 16 December 2021. The members responded to a complaint of shooting when the suspect was arrested with a .22 revolver with ammunition.
Furthermore, Grassy Park police arrested a 46-year-old male and two females aged 23 and 29 in Dove Road Parkwood this morning 17 December 2021 after information was received of firearms at the premises. The premises were searched and an Astral 357 revolver was seized. The suspects were arrested on charges of possession of prohibited firearms and ammunition and resisting arrest.
The same members also arrested a 27-year-old male for dealing in liquor without a license in Trumpeter Street New Horizon Grassy Park this morning. The members executed a search warrant at the premises when they confiscated the liquor with an estimated street value of R15 000.
The suspects will appear in Wynberg Magistrates Court on Monday 20 December 2021.
