A Car Guard was arrested by Reaction Officers for a robbery that occurred in the Verulam CBD – KZN.
A member of Reaction Unit South Africa (RUSA) was on patrol in the Central Business District (CBD) when he was flagged down by a pedestrian this afternoon (Monday). The man informed the Reaction Officer that he was robbed of his Huawei P10 Lite cellphone, R400 in cash and his hand chain by the Car Guard and an accomplice on the corner Wick & Todd Street yesterday.
He registered a criminal case and returned to Wick Street today where he noticed the male once again guarding vehicles and conducting traffic. He then flagged down a passing RUSA vehicle for assistance.
While attending to the scene, a female businesswoman informed Reaction Officers that the same Car Guard forcefully removed R90 from her husband’s shirt pocket after they refused to tip him last week. They did not register a criminal case.
The 38-year-old male was placed under arrested and detained at Verulam SAPS.
