The Johannesburg Roads Agency is making strides in upgrading the Bram Fischer and Jan Smuts intersection, with completion expected in Q1 of 2025! This project, part of the Randburg CBD Urban Development Framework, is set to improve pedestrian and vehicle movement while enhancing the public environment.
Completed works so far:
– Widened sidewalks & new paving on Jan Smuts
– Resurfaced roads on Jan Smuts & Bram Fischer
– New pedestrian crossings & road markings
– Installation of public lighting & street furniture
– Relocated substation for improved infrastructure
– Landscaping & construction of a new embankment
– Updated traffic signals for smoother flow
This upgrade is shaping Randburg into a more walkable, connected, and vibrant space.
