On Saturday 07 June 2025 at 06:45, the Ekurhuleni Metropolitan Police Department (EMPD) North Task Team Officers, arrested a thirty-eight (38) year-old male suspect for reckless and negligent driving in the Kempton Park area.
While patrolling the area, Officers spotted a White Toyota Quantum on Pretoria Road, overtaking on a solid line, skipping red robots and endangering traffic. Officers gave chase and managed to stop the minibus. Officers questioned the driver as to why he was driving recklessly and his response was he was late to fetch people to attended a funeral.
Officers proceeded to ask for his driver’s licence and PRDP, which he failed to produce. He was immediately arrested and detained at the Kempton Park Police Station, facing charges of reckless and negligent driving. He is expected to appear at the Kempton Park Magistrate court soon.
