UPINGTON – Kanoeneiland SAPS, in conjunction with INTERPOL, arrested a 41-year-old USA citizen in Kanoeneiland on Sunday, 26 October 2025 for extradition.
Members from INTERPOL engaged with Kanoeneiland SAPS in connection with an American male wanted for several cases including kidnapping suspected to be in the vicinity of Kanoeneiland.
The SAPS team comprising of Kanoeneiland SAPS, Upington Border Police and Upington High-Way Patrol, in conjunction with INTERPOL officials successfully traced and arrested the suspect at a farm in the area.
The suspect who is in custody, is expected to be extradited soon.
The District Commissioner of ZF Mgcawu, Major General Monica Sebili, commended the collaboration between the two law enforcement agencies and applauded the team involved in the execution of the arrest.
