KZNVIP Security, in collaboration with SAPS and various tracking and security partners worked together and successfully recovered several hijacked vehicles across Verulam, Newlands West, and surrounding areas in a coordinated effort to curb vehicle related crime in the region.
Multiple hijackings were reported across different areas, including Verulam where four armed suspects in a silver Hyundai i10 blocked and hijacked an Isuzu double cab bakkie from a motorist.
The victim escaped unharmed but was left shaken after being forced from his vehicle at gunpoint.
In Hopdale, Newlands West two armed suspects ambushed a motorist as he arrived at his partner’s property. The victim was assaulted and robbed of a white Hyundai Tucson, branded with Pinetown Hyundai markings. KZNVIP medics treated the injured driver on scene while SAPS took over the investigation.
Another hijacking occurred outside a church in Oakdale, where three suspects held victims at gunpoint before fleeing with a silver Toyota Yaris. The vehicle was later recovered in KwaMashu K-Section following a rapid multi-agency response.
Further recoveries included additional vehicles such as a Toyota Hilux and a Suzuki, both successfully located and recovered through combined efforts by tracking agents and private security teams.
Following an upsurge of hijackings in Newlands West, KZNVIP has deployed additional response and tactical resources to the area to enhance security, provide rapid intervention and support local residents.
The swift recoveries highlight the effectiveness of collaboration between KZNVIP, SAPS and key partners including Tracker, Netstar, Marshall Security, SBA Protect, SS Tracking and Sector CPF units.
