The Ekurhuleni Metropolitan Police Department (EMPD) Tracing Unit Officers together with the Eastern Region Task Team Officers, conducted a successful crime prevention operation in Etwatwa, Benoni, and Springs, resulting in the arrest of seven (7) suspects aged between twenty-three (23) and thirty-nine(39) years.
In Springs, two male suspects were arrested for not being in possession of any form of identification. In Actonville, a male suspect was arrested in possession of x39 mandrax tablets and x1 rock, with an estimated street value of R2,850. A male suspect was apprehended in Springs for robbery and the vehicle used in the commission of the crime was impounded. The Officers further arrested three (3) suspects in Etwatwa, who were sought for crimes including contravention of protection orders and common assault.
All arrested suspects were detained at their relevant Police Stations and are expected to appear before their respective Magistrate’s Courts soon.
