Incident: Attempted Theft of Motor Vehicle
At approximately 09h29, the KZN VIP Control Centre received an alert regarding an attempted motor vehicle theft outside a car dealership in Umhlanga.
All available KZN VIP Response Officers were immediately dispatched to the location. Upon arrival, it was established that a white vehicle (registration unconfirmed) was parked next to a white Volkswagen Polo in the outside parking area.
The complainant observed two (2) unknown male suspects inside the vehicle. Upon noticing the complainant, the suspects fled the scene in an unknown direction.
Further inspection revealed damage to the dashboard and ignition, consistent with an attempted theft. No arrests have been made at this stage.
