A coordinated intelligence-driven operation conducted on Tuesday, 09 June 2026, led to the arrest of two suspects and the recovery of a firearm, ammunition and property suspected to be linked to a business robbery occurred in May 2026, in the Makhado policing area.
The operation, which was carried out by #SAPS Makhado Detectives, resulted in the tracing and arrest of two male suspects aged 34 and 35.
During the operation, police recovered one unlicensed pistol with a magazine loaded with seven rounds of ammunition. Members also confiscated eleven cellphones and three pepper sprays suspected to be stolen property.
The suspects, have been charged with possession of an unlicensed firearm and ammunition as well as possession of suspected stolen property.
The Provincial Commissioner of Police in Limpopo, Lieutenant General Thembi Hadebe, welcomed the arrests and commended all members involved for their commitment in combating crime in the province.
The suspects are expected to appear before the Makhado Magistrate’s Court on Thursday, 11 June 2026.
