One male driver sustained moderate injuries this morning following a collision on Dan Pienaar road in Bloemfontein.
The exact cause of the collision is unclear, but the vehicle had allegedly veered out of control going through a series of bends, before leaving the road and colliding head-on with a roadside tree.
ER24 paramedics who arrived on the scene found the red bakkie at the side of the road with substantial damage to its front end. The man, believed to be aged in his 30’s, was unable to exit the wrecked vehicle as his left foot was stuck. Paramedics used a lubricant to free the man’s foot from the grip.
The man then received treatment at the scene for a suspected back and neck injury as well as various scrapes and bruises before being transported to Mediclinic Bloemfontein for further treatment.
