The public hearings of the Commission of Inquiry into Taxi Violence in the Gauteng province will continue on Tuesday, 11 February 2020 at 10:00.
The Commission will hear testimony from the Gauteng Department of Roads and Transport’s Director for Operating Licensing, Ms Nonhlanhla Dube, and Deputy Director for Conflict Resolution for Registration and Monitoring, Mr Peter Dhlamini, on Tuesday, 11 February 2020, at 10:00.
Ms Dube will continue testimony on issuance of Operating Licenses to Taxi Operators including compliance with conditions imposed by Provincial Regulatory Entity (PRE). Mr Dhlamini will include in his testimony, but not be limited to the role of his office in resolving conflict within the taxi industry and his role as the former official in the Registrar’s office.
The legal team is in the process of identifying and/or consulting with other witnesses who will appear before the Commission over the next few weeks.
