The public hearings of the Commission of Inquiry into Taxi Violence in the Gauteng province will continue on
Tuesday, 29 September 2020 at 09:00.
The testimony will be presented by Deputy Chief of Police Operations, Mr. Goodman Mzolo from the
Ekurhuleni Metropolitan
Mr. Mzolo testimony will include, but not be limited to:
The underlying reasons for the recurring Taxi conflicts;
Nature and patterns such conflicts;
Measures in place to deal with Taxi conflicts; and
The capacity of the Ekurhuleni Metropolitan Police Department (EMPD) to curb with Taxi conflicts.
The legal team is in the process of identifying and/or consulting with other witnesses who will appear before the Commission
over the next few weeks.
