Franschhoek police executed a search warrant on Tuesday, 14 September 2021, at the home of a known drug dealer in Mooiwater, resulting in the arrest of a suspect.
An integrated contingent of police members approached at a residence in Rubynel Street, Franschhoek, as part of a focused operation to curb the dealing of drugs in the policing precinct. Upon arrival at the mentioned address, the police members searched the premises and confiscated drugs with an estimated street value of R27 000-00 and an undisclosed amount of cash. A 22-year old man was found in possession of ammunition and detained as he could not provide a license to be in possession of ammunition.
Once charged the suspect is expected to make a court appearance at the Franschhoek Magistrate court on Thursday, 16 September 2021, on charges of possession of ammunition and dealing in drugs.
