The South African Police Service in Limpopo is making concerted efforts to combat drug-related Crimes within the Province. Through various strategies, initiatives, and collaborations, SAPS aims to reduce the prevalence of drugs, apprehend those involved in drug trafficking and distribution, and create safer communities for all citizens. These efforts include increased patrols, targeted operations, community engagement, and cooperation with other law enforcement agencies through High Density Operation Kukula.
The members of Bela-Bela Crime Intelligence Unit together with Crime Prevention members conducted a tactical operation today, Monday 28 August 2023 after receiving a positive a tip-off about suspect involved in illegal activities.
The suspect was tracked down and arrested at his residential place where he was found in possession of 10x 5 high litres of cross dagga and 3×20 litres of skanka dagga all to the estimated street value of R70000-00.
The Provincial Commissioner of the South African Police Service Lieutenant General Thembi Hadebe has applauded this team of members for the remarkable job of arresting the suspect and their commitment to creating a drug free society.
The 41-year-old suspect is expected to appear before the Bela-Bela Magistrate’s Court soon facing charges of possession and dealing in drugs.
