POLOKWANE – The Police in Limpopo continue to tighten their grip on drug-related criminal activities following the arrest of two male suspects for dealing in dagga in separate operations conducted in the Waterberg and Capricorn Districts on Friday, 21 November 2025.
Members of Lephalale Detectives together with Villa Nora Visible Policing (VISPOL) conducted a planned, intelligence-driven operation targeting drug dealing activities around Shongoane 02 Village under Villa Nora policing area.
During the operation, the team searched a house at Shongoane , where a 44-year-old male suspect was found in possession of 57 (fifty-seven) foil-wrapped sachets of dagga, with an estimated street value of R1 140.00.
The suspect was immediately arrested and charged with possession and dealing in drugs (dagga).
In a separate incident, SAPS Sebayeng members were conducting tracing duties around Ga Dikgale, Marobala Village, when they received information about an individual suspected of selling dagga to school-going children.
Police followed up on the information, searched the identified premises, and confiscated 31 sachets of dagga, valued at approximately R600.00. A 48-year-old male suspect was arrested on charges of dealing in dagga.
Both suspects will soon appear before the Lephalale and Mankweng Magistrate’s Courts, respectively, facing charges of possession and dealing in drugs.
“These arrests reflect our continued commitment to rooting out drug dealers who prey on vulnerable members of our communities, particularly children. We will continue to intensify operations across the province to ensure that drug-related activities are decisively confronted,” said Provincial Commissioner Lieutenant General Hadebe.
