Two taxi drivers were found shot dead in a pathway in Magwaveni, Tongaat – KZN, in the early hours of this morning (Monday).
At approximately 05:12, the Reaction Unit South Africa (RUSA) Tongaat Operations Centre dispatched Reaction Officers after receiving reports of a shooting. On arrival, Officers discovered the bodies of two males metres apart from each other.
According to the public, gunshots were heard at around 02:00. A short while later, four females approached Reaction Officers and explained that they had been consuming alcohol with the victims earlier in the evening. The two males left, stating that they intended on returning home to sleep. The deceased were confirmed to be taxi drivers.
The motive for the double murder has not yet been established.
