Between 15 Monday and 16 Tuesday December 2025, the Ekurhuleni Metropolitan Police Department (EMPD) Bronberg Precinct Officers and Eastern Region Task Team Officers, arrested six (6) male suspects aged between nineteen (19) and forty (40) years, in separate incidents across Benoni and Brakpan.
In Putfontein, a wanted suspect was traced and arrested for assault with intent to cause grievous bodily harm (GBH). Meanwhile, a blue Chevrolet Spark, that was reported stolen was recovered, abandoned in the Benoni area. The vehicle was confirmed stolen and towed to a police yard for safekeeping.
In the Brakpan area, five (5) male suspects were apprehended for being undocumented foreign nationals with no valid identification.
All suspects were detained at their respective Police Stations and are expected to appear before the relevant Magistrate’s Court soon.
